Senior Director, Editorial & Brand - Gilt

 

Gilt Groupe is looking for a seasoned head of Editorial to report to the Vice President of Marketing Creative.  This position will oversee a team of 7 to deliver all marketing and sale related copy and content for the site and external branding initiatives. This individual will be an integral player in defining the company’s go-forward content strategy across all platforms (site, mobile, social as well as external media).

 

The successful candidate will evolve the Gilt voice and tone - across all owned channels and external brand touchpoints (with an emphasis on fashion).

 

The candidate will envision and implement best-in-class integrated and dynamic content.  She/he will have deep expertise in women’s fashion and lifestyle editorial, a proven track record of formulating editorial tone and voice in early stage environments, the drive to flawlessly execute on strategic goals, and be able to adapt to the ever-changing retail environment. Strong entrepreneurial and creative skills and a demonstrated track record of successful editorial products are a must. Excellent writing skills, and a strong eye for design and detail as well as experience generating web content and managing blogs and social media channels. She/he should be innovative, team oriented, an effective communicator, as well as have a desire to participate in a fast-paced, start-up environment with rapidly changing priorities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop/oversee the evolution of the Gilt voice and tone across all touchpoints
  • Develop a Fashion Editorial direction including a detailed Editorial calendar
  • Manage a team of Editors across the Women’s, Men’s, Home, Kids businesses as well as Brand
  • Assign, Edit and Write Content designed to engage our fashion customers, drive traffic, and increase conversion
  • Partner across all Creative and Marketing functions to execute all Editorial components of site wide programs
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with Styling, Art Direction, Design, Merchandising, PR, Integrated Marketing and Business Development
  • Work closely with Senior Leadership in Merchandising to understand all business needs, concerns, and strategies
  • Partner with Business Development team to maximize relevancy of advertising opportunities and secure funding for groundbreaking content ideas
  • Team closely with Fashion Director and Styling team on seasonal trends, partnerships and content opportunities
  • Work with key branded partners to understand marketing and PR goals and bring brands stories to life with editorially driven fashion
  • Manage/develop 3 direct reports: 1 director, 1 senior editors and 1 editor and oversee growth for the balance of team.
  • Establish close relationship with Social Media, Product Copy and Gilt City editorial teams
  • Spearhead new Editorially driven sales, ideas, and content
