Job Description

Role Mandate:


The Product Design & Development Assistant is responsible for the full execution of tech packs.

They are responsible for initiating seasonal tech packs. While ensuring line board concepts presented by the Design Director through to final commercialized garments. Ensuring fit, construction & quality testing standards are met. The Product Design & Development Assistant collaborates with the PDD Associate Manager, PDD Manager,  & Design Director to finalize technical sketches, line boards and coordinate sample development based on the overall brand vision and strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation and execution of detailed tech packs, to send to vendors / LF which include material information, trim details, sketches, size as artwork and detailed spec information
  • Work in collaboration with the Technical team to ensure products meet established fit and measurement standards
  • Analyze and troubleshoot product issues in a timely fashion
  • Communicate with vendors / LF on a regular basis to ensure critical milestone dates are met and deliveries stay on calendar



  • 5+ years of related experience in development, design, and production.
  • A willingness to initiate change as the company grows in order to streamline processes, improve efficiency and facilitate the growth of the company
  • Prior experience with product data management systems
  • Must have an understanding of price relation to product development
  • Ability to create print ready artwork using Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Able to work under tight timelines and group environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong dedication to accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Knowledge of fabrics and trims, sourcing, material and product specs, garment construction, pattern making, related testing and costing
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must embrace a respectful, collaborative team environment
