What Is This Position Is All About:

The Hudson’s Bay Assistant General Manager (AGM)  is a business leader who is focused on growth and development within the organization. The AGM role is designed to develop and grow executives into General Managers. Reporting to the General Manager, the AGM is accountable  for all aspects relating to driving profitable sales and leading an exceptional service focused customer experience. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager are the Customer Experience Managers. The Assistant General Manager is accountable for supporting the ongoing development and growth of the Customer Experience Managers and associates.

  • The desire to become a General Manager within 18 months

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines 

  • Keen attention to detail 

  • Able to establish relationships with internal and external partners 

  • Must be able to problem solve, make decisions, think critically and analytically 


As The Assistant General Manager, You Will:


  •  Ensure that the  Customer Experience Managers are  focused on driving profitable sales and leading an engaged, customer service obsessed group of associates on the selling floor

  • Lead the Customer Experience Management team to follow the store business strategy by  making effective use of physical assets, maximizing sales and gross profit per square foot, maximizing return on investment and Gross Profit. 

  • Responsible for making sure that all company processes are communicated, executed and measured 

  • Establishing a best in class training process to improve productivity in identified areas
