Role Summary

Director of Payments and Store Applications is responsible for directing the design, development, implementation and support of all Omnichannel tendering systems including Gift Card, Credit, Debit, Check, and related tendering media.  The area of responsibility ranges from the Store Level Pinpad devices and Customer’s Checkout Page all the way to the Bank and Gift Card processing systems.  The position is also responsible for a miscellaneous list of other Omnichannel and Credit Contact center applications.


Responsibilities include daily oversight and support of all related systems; including developing technical solutions in partnership with 3rd party vendors and contract resources. Serve as liaison to HBC business teams including Store and Online Operations, Credit, Fraud, and Contact Center Management Teams for system support issues, upgrades, enhancements and projects.


Ensure full compliance with corporate policies, procedures and security standard are met for PII and sensitive customer data. Partner with cross functional teams across various IT departments including, infrastructure, network, information security, project management and help desk to develop project estimates, timelines, technical and business requirements to support corporate initiatives.


Essential Job Functions

  • Direct the design, development, implementation, and support of applications using various web and cloud based technologies. Provide project management support for planning and implementation for department and corporate initiatives.

  • Assist staff in resolving technical support issues, including root cause analysis, testing, mitigation and recovery. Support source control, testing and validation of production code migrations. Support information security, disaster recovery, redundancy and data assurance efforts.

  • Manage team of company, contract and vendor personnel. Meet weekly with teams to ensure all projects are completed on-time and within budget. Monitor adherence to vendor contract and service level agreements.

Educational and Professional Requirements


  • 10+ years of experience in managing IT teams and working with Payment Systems.
  • Experience working with Microsoft web technologies, such as, Visual Studio, .Net,, and/or Experience working with multiple platforms for web development, such as, Perl, JavaScript, PHP, and/or Ruby.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with multiple database platforms such as MS SQL Server, Oracle and/or DB2, MS SQL Server preferred.
  • Experience in Project Management and Process Improvement and/or Systems Integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, MS Access or equivalent Google Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Adept at problem solving, quick learner capable of leveraging technical skills and knowledge across multiple disciplines
