What This Position Is All About:


Responsible for the development of new database systems and the maintenance of such using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.  Also responsible for detailing and documenting the database applications/models and supporting quality assurance activities and development efforts as part of the Data Management team.  


Who You Are:

  • Use of UNIX to create various Shell Scripts.
  • Utilize fundamentals of RDBMS in order to achieve core functionality of application and transfer data between various databases; Use of ELT/ETL Technology.
  • Use of enterprise scheduling tool to automate batch job/nightly cycle.
  • Use of Oracle Change data Capture functionality. $128,000/yr. 5 day, 40 hr/wk.
You Also Have:

  • Requires Bachelor’s (or foreign educ. equiv.)
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or Information Technology and two (2) yrs. experience in the Job Offered.  
  • Experience must have included Use of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, Oracle 10g, 11g and NoSQL DB including MongoDB.
 

As The Database Developer, You Will:


  • Defining, developing and documenting application models and architecture using the principle of RDBMS.   
  • Designing, customizing and maintaining ELT/ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) data integration with the aim of optimizing efficiencies for Saks Fifth Avenue’s enterprise model.  
  • Provide operational and production support across all data management systems involving customer experience on saks.com, saksoff5th.com, lordandtaylor.com and theBay.com.  
  • Analyzing and evaluating new and/or enhanced data management procedures that have been implemented by Saks Fifth Avenue’s data management systems to identify any operational inefficiencies.  
  • Ensuring existing database documentation and information has been accurately and completely inputted to maintain up-to-date data management systems for analysis purposes and creating trouble-shooting solutions as required.  
  • Undertaking analysis of existing database structures to prepare reports and recommendations for upgrades and/or improvements to models and functions.  
  • Having responsibility for clarifying and defining data standards, identifying problems and recommending changes and solutions to implement best practices as a member of the Data Management team.
