·         Own and be the gatekeeper of all store applications (POS, mobile, payment architecture)

·         Oversee and continue to expand a team of technical managers, developers and analysts

·         Create and nurture a culture for technical debate and creative thinking to result in best-in-class solutions against aggressive timelines

·         Work closely with existing external partners to understand their technical roadmaps, hold these partners accountable for ongoing delivery

·         Assess existing store systems, create tactical and strategic roadmaps for hbc’s customer facing systems - make it a priority to understand future-state solutions in mobile and payment

·         Develop an in-store device strategy, create secure solutions (e.g. device management, wifi) and provide the associates with the best possible experience

Be a close partner with hbc’s digital team, join forces to create an all-channel strategy

·         You love technology and are comfortable diving into technical details

·         You have experience with payment systems (EMV, payment middleware, encryption)

·         You have experience leading a technical team

·         You understand the software delivery lifecycle

·         You are comfortable with hardware (devices) and the engineering space (e.g. OS, networks, device management, active directory etc.)

·         You lead by example to create a mindset of best-in-class

·         You have experience managing technical vendors


·         University degree with a technical discipline, or a combination of strong experience and education

·         Experience in a technical retail environment

·         Strong strategic thinking skills; ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and to make sound, logical decisions

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to operate in a fast past dynamic organization where change is a constant
