What This Position Is All About:
The Manager, Public Relations is responsible for supporting the Saks Fifth Avenue PR strategy including maximizing exposure for the Saks brand, which includes press for events, charitable initiatives, merchandise mix, and the overall brand.

 

Who You Are:
-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferably in Communications)
-Minimum of 5 years experience in Public Relations, preferably with agency experience
-The ideal candidate must be able to work in a professional, fast-aced environment and be willing to deal with shifting priorities.
-Strong written and verbal communications skills – must be a solid writer
-Experience with crafting pitches to drive press results
-Ability to develop strong partners internally and externally across many levels of the organization
-Must be well-poised with a sense of command
-Experience in managing and motivating direct reports as well as cross-functional peers
-Possess a strong drive to take initiative and be resourceful
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
-Working knowledge of Cision and other PR tools
-Retail experience a plus
 
As The Manager, Public Relations, You Will:
-Drive execution of PR strategy to key media in all Saks markets, with emphasis on NY press.
-Key holder of many important media relationships for the brand, including with event coverage press.
-Support the Director, PR with development of key messages and all written press materials.
-Proactively secure editorial credits for the Saks brand, as well as event and charitable intiatives and support on securing editorial features on Saks.
-Regular contact and meetings with short-lead editors and reporters to secure regular placements for Saks.
-Coordinate the creation of regular product pitches and lookbooks for press outreach.
-Own media monitoring, distribution fo placements and analysis to determine key opportunities.
-Manage photography to document and recap store events
-Oversee the tracking of clips and media monitoring
