What This Position Is All About:

As a HBC Senior Technical Analyst of Point of Sale (POS) applications, you will be responsible to execute and deliver technical analysis necessary to deliver robust, stable and reliable systems in a cross platform environment to promote business operations and strategies with seamless integration to our enterprise applications reporting to Manager IT POS.  A keen understanding of business processes and needs, system business functions, and an understanding on integration points and data sources is required

You Also Have:

  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study
  • 3+ years of work experience in Information Technology, retail industry is a plus
  • 3+ years of work experience in supporting business applications via on-call
  • Independent, self-motivated, self-directed individual who requires minimal direction/superivion in a fast pace and highly dynamic organization where change is constant and who can provide guidance to junior staff when necessary
  • Experience with technical analysis and creation of technical documentation is required
  • Experience in POS front end, POS back of house, and financial application software is a plus
  • Experience with payment middleware (EMV, tokenization, encryption, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies, ie .NET is plus
  • Strong organizational skills and written/verbal communication skills

As the Senior Technical Analyst- POS Applications, You Will:

  • Responsible for the overall technical analysis required to deliver technical solutions for POS applications which are highly available, fault tolerant and drive innovation
  • Oversee and develop the creation of technical documentation and blueprints necessary to support technical solutions
  • Provide mentorship to Technical Analyst � POS and serve as reviewer of all delivered work to ensure it meets business needs
  • Key participant in business requirement gathering sessions to understand business impact and identifying technical solutions which will meet/exceed business needs and integrates with business processes
  • Subject matter expert with in-depth retail concepts to deliver solutions in the areas of POS back of house and downstream financial functions such as: TLOG, Trickle Sales, Refund Management, Gift Cards, Credit and Electronic Journal
  • Key participant in application delivery and project planning leveraging SDLC and Agile methodologies and liaison with Project Management Office team
  • Change Champion who seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and drives increased productivity through Problem Management
  • Participate in on-call rotation necessary to support critical business functions/systems required to support retail environment for POS applications
