What This Position is All About

The Asset Protection Associate provides leadership support to the Asset Protection Manager, District Asset Protection Manager, Asset Protection Investigators, Store Leadership and Associates. The Asset Protection Associate must be able to temporarily assume total responsibility for all Asset Protection functions in the absence of the Asset Protection Manager.

You Also Have:

  • High School Degree or Equivalency. Wicklander-Zulawski Interview Certification
  • 2+ years of retail Asset Protection experience with a successful track record of producing positive statistical and shortage results.

As The Asset Protection Associate, You Will:

  • Facilitate selling process through consistent adherence to policies and procedures that safeguard customers, associates and assets of the company
  • Assists with store-wide communication, training, new hire orientation, safety and shortage meetings
  • Participates in Store Leadership meetings where appropriate
  • Oversees API floor ownership program execution
  • Drive Service
  • Consistently role model and execute the SFA Customer Experience
  • Provides Asset Protection training and overview of company policies and procedures to all store New Hires
  • Participates in Store Staff Meetings speaking to Asset Protection updates and trends noticed in the store and surrounding areas.
  • Drive Management of Controllable Profit & Expenses
  • Local Shortage Strategy & implementation and execution
  • Provides feedback and recommendations in the development of the respective store shortage strategy
  • Provide feedback and coaching to associates regarding asset protection best practices
  • Assumes a leadership role supporting the APM/DAPM and Store Director in the planning and execution of the annual physical inventory and reconciliation process
  • Ensures all physical security standards are maintained and adjustments are initiated timely
  • Drive Asset Protection Excellence
  • Provides daily supervision and guidance to all investigators ensuring adherence to Saks Fifth Avenue apprehension and investigative guidelines, and any applicable local, state and federal laws
  • Assists the APM/DAPM and Store Director with training, coaching and developing staff investigators with required technical skills needed to be successful in their role
  • Assists the APM/DAPM and Store Director in ensuring all members of the Asset Protection staff successfully complete required on-line training and other curriculum necessary for certifications
  • Provides feedback to the APM/DAPM and Store Director for the mid-year and annual performance reviews for all API's.
  • Prepares weekly audit schedule for AP staff, delegates assignments and ensures audit requirements are being met and properly documented
  • Performs AP operational audits and internal self-audits in sensitive areas when necessary or required
  • Provides audit summaries for the APM/DAPM and Store Director for discussion with Store Leadership weekly
  • Manages APIS case report submission from investigators for content, timeliness and accuracy to ensure investigative efficiency while providing guidance as needed
  • Provides assistance with camera installations and follow-up review
  • Consistently identifies and addresses internal and external theft exposures to achieve targets of investigative performance
  • Consults with the APM/DAPM and Store Director  to prepare investigations for the interview phase
  • Performance Measures/Outcomes (example: key metrics, turnover, retentions stats, etc.)
  • Achievement of People Sales Plan
  • Achievement of GREAT Selling & Service Scores Goal
  • Achievement of storewide shortage results below provision and company standard
  • Demonstration of At Standard communication, leadership, staff development, and supervisory skills
  • Investigative performance (personal and staff) must demonstrate a direct impact in high shortage departments
