What This Position Is All About:

The Planning Director, eCommerce is responsible for managing the overall financial planning of the eCommerce business in partnership with omni-channel planning organization, digital planners and digital merchandising. Provide thought leadership on how to analyze a rapidly changing digital business.

You Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Planning Manager and proven experience with Inventory Control, Assortment Strategy, Merchandising, Demand Forecasting, Financial Planning or Analysis
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel (Intermediate level)
  • Knowledge of Retail Math, including Gross Margin proficienc
  • Plan top-side sales, fulfillment and return metrics, build year over year sales bridges
  • Work with digital finance to validate and refine long range plans
  • Build assortment targets to achieve long range plans
  • Manage depth/breadth pre-season planning process with input from digital planning team
  • Validate divisional sales plans, challenging digital planning where necessary
  • Create drop ship long range sales targets, track results and share with organization to ensure targets are achieved
  • Create daily sales plans
  • Validate OTB plans, ensure appropriate inventory levels to achieve sales
  • Ensure drop ship business is running smoothly including GM, fulfillment etc, forecast sales in-season based on vendor onboarding progress
  • Run and distribute digital reporting
  • Provide shot count forecasts to digital partners as needed


  • Forecast daily/weekly/monthly sales and all other topside digital metrics
  • Collaborate with omni planning teams to ensure OTB plans are being upheld 
  • Work with Digital Merchandising to react to in-season business by adding/removing events as needed
  • Provide real-time analysis on promotions (POS, free ship, free returns etc) to influence the marketing calendar
  • DC inventory management reviewing unpublished, expired, non-factory, fresh and unproductive items
  • Collaborate with warehouse on staffing, fulfillment, ensure team is aware about all business activities
