Director of Marketplace & Dropship
In this newly created role, the Director of Marketplace & Dropship will be accountable for developing, executing and delivering the launch and growth of a Marketplace on thebay.com. This role will be responsible for building the strategy and roadmap while managing operations and performance. In addition to marketplace, this role will also be responsible for managing a complimentary vendor dropship program and team. This position will report to the DVP of Digital Experience, Operations & Marketplace and will be a contributor to the overall Digital growth strategy and P&L. This is a remote position.
What You’ll Do
Lead the newly established marketplace team and existing dropship team through the process of designing and delivering a digital solution that expands our online assortment through new and existing vendors.
Create and manage both the marketplace and dropship P&L’s with a focus on delivering profitable sales growth and achieving EBITDA targets
Become the ambassador for Marketplace in the company through building the vision and outlining how new business opportunities are expected to promote business growth and profitability
Partner with the Product Management team on business requirements and enhancements to build functionality and design that is customer centric
Understand the marketplace landscape by identifying and actioning opportunities within the assortment, site merchandising (taxonomy/refinements) and content through competitive analysis and market research
Define seller/vendor strategy best adapted to HBC in partnership with the merchant team and implement a scalable onboarding process.
Responsible for all marketplace operations which includes collaborating with key cross-functional stakeholders to drive assortment growth, online marketing, merchandising and promotions
Partner with the merchant team to understand the different profitability levels across owned, marketplace and dropship merchandise.
Determine KPIs and establish dashboards/reporting for tracking marketplace, measure the impact and effectively manage delivering results
Optimize product performance through web analytics, site merchandising, on site search, ratings and reviews, product display pages and other digital tools
Ensure high quality content and product in our marketplace is aligned to our corporate branding guidelines
Lead the vendor dropship strategy and team supporting vendor onboarding, monitoring compliance, developing scorecards and maintaining team SLAs across multiple key KPIs.
